CARLOWCATHEDRAL

Carlow Cathedral was the brainchild of Bishop James Doyle, who was

regarded as a prominent advocate of Catholic rights. The building is

constructed from lovely grey-blue stone. Local materials were used in its

construction, the stone coming from a quarry on the Tullow Road.

CARLOWCOUNTY MUSEUM

Carlow County Museum is one of Ireland’s newest local museums and an

award-winning tourist attraction. It provides a snapshot of the interesting

heritage of Carlow, a county located within less than two hours’ drive of

Dublin. ‘Carlow 1916 Commemorative Stained Glass Panel by Peadar

Lamb’, depicts a Carlow narrative on the 1916 Rising, featuring some of the

key Carlow figures and the role they played in 1916.
