CASTLE WARD DEMESNE,

CO DOWN

Castle Ward provides fans with numerous filming

locations from the show; the most notable spot is Castle

Ward House which acted as the Stark Family Home as

well as Audley`s Field and Castle where you will be

provided with another Game of Thrones

®

point of

interest from Series 1 and 2.

THE TOLLYMORE FOREST PARK,

CO DOWN

Fans visiting Tollymore Forest Park will recognise the

Haunted Forest from the show and it's both eerie and

exquisite in equal measures. It also contains four walking

trails as well as the picturesque Shimna River.

BALLINTOY HARBOUR,

CO ANTRIM

A visit to Ballintoy is a must. The harbour was reinvented

as The Iron Islands where Theon Greyjoy had his home-

coming and subsequent baptism. The town itself was

also used in shooting as the town of Lordsport in the Isle

of Pyke. It contains the unique Bendhu House, a listed

building designed by artist Newton Penpras, and the

famous Carrick-a-Rede Rope Bridge which links the

mainland, to Carrick Island, east of Ballintoy.

MOURNE MOUNTAINS,

CO DOWN

The Sandy Brae Track in the “The Mournes” was the location

for the Entry to Vaes Dothrek in Series 1 of the show. Eagle

Mountain, which is the highest peak of the Mournes, will

provide stunning views of Slieve Foye, Belfast Hills and the

Cooley Mountains and peninsula.

THE DARK HEDGES,

BALLYMONEY, CO ANTRIM

Perhaps the most iconic Game of Thrones

®

location in

Northern Ireland, this mystical path acts as The King`s Road

in the show with its overreaching beech trees forming a

beautiful natural tunnel, showing exactly why the road was

chosen as a location.

CAVES OF CUSHENDUN,

CO ANTRIM

The Caves have become popular in recent years as they

hosted the sorceress Melisandre when she gave birth to the

shadow baby in the Storms End episode in Series 2. Take

your time to walk along this rugged yet beautiful coastline

and on a clear day you may even be able to see the west

coast of Scotland.
